Al Shlosha Dvarim: The Power of Simplicity

Is less more? Inspired by a lesson from our Sages that “The world stands on three things,” Rabbi Adam Grossman explores what happens when we apply a more simple and focused approach to our outreach goals. Reflecting on his work as CEO of the University of Florida’s Hillel, Rabbi Grossman argues that less is more, and that narrowing in and simplifying programming goals can accomplish far more in making Judaism relevant to today’s young Jews.

Ordained in 2008 from HUC-JIR, Rabbi Adam Grossman is a social entrepreneur, who has been at the forefront of groundbreaking and nationally recognized initiatives to engage Jews with meaning, practice, and action. Currently Rabbi Grossman is CEO at the University of Florida Hillel where he created Career Up, a program focused on on integrating Jewish relevancy with career advancement for students by providing immersive professional networking experiences in cities across the US, internship placement, and professional and personal development workshops. Previously, Rabbi Grossman was Associate Rabbi at Temple Israel where he received numerous awards for innovative programming including the URJ Belin award for “Community Six-Pack,” and the TI Fellowship. Additionally, he co-founded Convue, an online system to help relationship-focused professionals enhance their customer connections, and was named a Rabbis Without Borders Fellow in 2013 by Clal.
