Sharing Our Origins: On (Possibly) being Bob Dylan’s Son
Hosted By: The New York Jewish Week, UJA-Federation of New York
Join New York Jewish Week and UJA-Federation New York for the next event in our Folio literary series. Author Sam Sussman will be joined in conversation with author Menachem Kaiser to discuss Sam’s debut novel, Boy from the North Country.
Sam Sussman’s Boy From the North Country is a debut novel like no other. An extraordinary story of love, origins, and self-discovery based on Sussman’s life story as told in his Harper’s Magazine essay, “The Silent Type: On (Possibly) Being Bob Dylan’s Son,” Boy From the North Country is one of the most tender mother-son love stories of our time. This majestic novel is a love letter from a son to his mother, a stunningly rare view into the creative life of Bob Dylan, a tribute to the humanistic power of the Jewish literary tradition, and a universal story about trying to understand the complexities of our parents’ lives. Join us to hear Sam speak about his stunning debut novel.
