Qesher Book Club: Songs for the Brokenhearted

Hosted By: Qesher

Qesher Book Club presents a story of love, loss, and discovery spanning generations and continents. In 1995, Zohara returns to Israel from New York after her mother’s death and uncovers a hidden romance from 1950 between her mother and a man named Yaqub in a crowded immigrant camp. As she pieces together the past, Zohara confronts buried family secrets and reexamines her understanding of identity, heritage, and belonging.

Qesher

There are Jewish communities all around the globe with their own unique history, culture, places, and most of all, people and stories. All of them different, but sharing so much. The aim of Qesher is to connect these different Jewish traditions, not just to know of each other, but to learn about each other. We believe that there is great value in creating a deeper understanding within the Jewish world and exploring Jewish experiences and identities in all their diversity.
