Holocaust, Art, And Nature — Are they related?

Hosted By: Jewish Study Center

The Jewish Study Center presents a program exploring the connection between the Holocaust, art, and nature through the lives of two Jewish artists: Trude Sojka, a Holocaust survivor who became a renowned Ecuadorian artist, and her granddaughter Gabriela (Gaby) Steinitz, a contemporary visual artist. Gaby will discuss how nature served as healing and inspiration for both women, using her own work to illustrate these themes. The presentation will reflect on how artistic expression rooted in nature can offer meaning and resilience in the shadow of trauma.
