Connecting Through Comfort Food

Hosted By: The Nosher

What makes certain Jewish foods so comforting? Why do we turn to nostalgic foods — from kugel to latkes to rugelach and more — for comfort and connection holiday after holiday and year after year? And how can Jewish cooks renew and innovate on these traditional foods so our families and guests can find comfort in these modern, challenging times?

Join Shannon Sarna, editor of The Nosher and author of the new cookbook “Modern Jewish Comfort Food,” and award-winning Israeli chef Michael Solomonov, co-owner of the renowned Philadelphia restaurants Zahav and Abe Fisher, Laser Wolf in Philadelphia and Brooklyn, and more, to discuss the meaning and pleasures of Jewish comfort food, and how these foods can bring us closer to each other.

Their conversation will be moderated by Philissa Cramer, Editor of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
