Virtual Walking Tour: Jewish London

Hosted By: The Museum of Jewish Heritage-- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust

Join The Museum of Jewish Heritage and Our Travel Circle for a guided live walk around Jewish Whitechapel, the old Jewish quarter of London.

This tour will give an overview of the history of Jewish immigration to Britain, and an insight into why this area attracted so many different immigrant groups over the years. This area was the center of the London Jewish community during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Tour guide Sam will tell stories of rags to riches and of Prime Ministers to paupers, as his own family has its Jewish roots in this area of London. Attendees will see the famous Bevis Marks Synagogue, as well as surprises along the streets and byways of the Jewish East End, many of which have hardly changed since the 19th century.

Registration is $18 for Museum members and $36 for the general public. If you’re not a member, join today. If you’re already a member, log in and the member discount will be reflected in your cart.
