Some Kagan Love

Sometimes you just have to say what is on your mind. I want Elena Kagan to be a member of my family. No, I don’t wanna marry her. I just want her to appear at family functions. She’s smart, insightful, engaging, and downright funny. I feel like we would get along at Sunday brunch. That’s all I’m saying.

I don’t want to out myself as a nerd right now, but I watched a good amount of Kagan’s confirmation hearings this week. Why? Because I’m a patriot, that’s why. What were you doing? Watching soccer? That’s the opposite of patriotism.

But if there was one thing I took away from the hearings is that Kagan is Jewish. Even if she were to try to hide her Jewishness, it would have come out in her sweat. She is like a mix between Fran Drescher and Woody Allen. As Jewish as they come.

While watching the hearings, I knew, I just knew, that Jon Stewart would have an awesome take on Kagan’s Judaism and some of the senators’ vague, anti-Semitic-ish comments to her. And by golly, he didn’t disappoint.

Here is his coverage from last night. He wraps up my feelings very nicely.

Sorry Canada. The video won’t work for you.
