Miriam’s Well: Torah, Yoga, and the Moon
Hosted By: Temple Israel of Boston
Miriam’s Well is a space for connection. Each week, we gather virtually with breath and movement practice, led by master Yoga teacher Evelyn Punch, then turn to Jewish text and tradition to elevate ourselves, each other, and the wider world. The class meets in 4-week cycles. Themes for yoga practice, and for text learning — Abraham, Sarah, and Angels; the role of the priest or the ally in Torah — are ordered by the months of the Hebrew Calendar. With each moon, this Community Time is guided by a different leader, a Guardian of the Well.
You are invited to choose your own adventure: sign up for one class, or dive in for the cycle. And if you’re just in the mood for mindful movement, feel free to duck out after our 70-minute practice on the mat. All are very welcome, across the spectrum of gender, sexuality, race, class, spiritual lineage (Jewish, or any other) and level of movement experience.
