How does Judaism engage with those who choose to become Jews? Join returning guest teacher Rabbi Scott Kalmikoff on Zoom for a three-part exploration of Jewish approaches to conversion. We’ll examine traditional texts, including Talmud and commentaries, and discuss their relevance to Jewish life and peoplehood today.

Rabbi Scott Kalmikoff

Rabbi Scott Kalmikoff studied abroad for three semesters at Yeshivat Netiv Aryeh in the Old City of Jerusalem. Scott received a BA in Jewish Studies from Yeshiva University and was a recipient of the university’s Altshul, Pearlman Memorial Award for Highest Ranks in all Jewish Studies. Following graduation from Yeshiva University, Scott began his studies at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah. During his time at YCT, Scott served as the Rabbinic Intern and Youth Rabbi at Mount Freedom Jewish Center in Randolph, NJ. Scott formerly served as the Assistant Rabbi and Program Coordinator at Mount Freedom Jewish Center in Randolph, NJ. He currently serves as the Global Connections Education Associate at the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ. Scott is also the founder of Genealogy with Rabbi Scott. He resides on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
