Living Traditions: Women’s Songs in Endangered Jewish Languages

Hosted By: HUC-JIR Jewish Language Project

This is the second launch event for the Jewish Language Project’s groundbreaking new online exhibit, “A Millennium of Jewish Women’s Voices,” which features women’s texts and songs from the 11th to 21st centuries in 15 languages. Vanessa Paloma Elbaz of Cambridge University will moderate a conversation among experts in the field while showcasing a selection of vibrant performances.

Participants include: Milena Kartowsky Aiach, Judith Cohen, Ruth Davis, Laura Elkeslassy, and Sara Manasseh. The event will take place over Zoom and is free and open to the public.
