Joan Nathan ‘My Life in Recipes’ Book Release

Hosted By: The Weitzman National Museum Of American Jewish History

Joan Nathan, a pioneer in exploring the diverse world of Jewish cooking, shares her journey in her latest cookbook, “My Life in Recipes: Food, Family, and Memories.” This special event features Nathan alongside acclaimed chef and James Beard Award winner Mike Solomonov, as they discuss the rich flavors and culinary traditions that characterize Jewish cuisine. Attendees can also opt for a “Dinner Package,” which includes reserved seating for the onstage conversation, a signed copy of Nathan’s book, and a three-course dinner prepared by Nathan and Solomonov, drawing from the new book’s recipes.

Michael Solomonov

Michael Solomonov is a beloved champion of Israel's diverse and vibrant culinary landscape. He is co-owner of Philadelphia’s CookNSolo Restaurants which include Zahav, the trailblazing restaurant where Solomonov is Chef, and he is the co-author of three cookbooks. Solomonov is the recipient of five James Beard awards, including 2016 “Book of the Year” for his and CookNSolo partner Steven Cook’s best seller Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking, as well as 2017 “Outstanding Chef” and 2019 "Outstanding Restaurant" for Zahav. He is the host of the new "Bringing Israel Home" series.

Established in 1976, and situated on Philadelphia’s Independence Mall, the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History is the only museum in the nation dedicated exclusively to exploring and interpreting the American Jewish experience. The Weitzman NMAJH presents educational programs and experiences that preserve, explore, and celebrate the history of Jews in America. Its purpose is to connect Jews more closely to their heritage and to inspire in people of all backgrounds a greater appreciation for the diversity of the American Jewish experience and the freedoms to which Americans aspire.
