Bereshit/Sefer Aggadah – An In-Depth Study of Its Stories and Legends

From Creation through the story of Joseph, Genesis connects us to our roots, as we learn about our relationships with God, with one another & with this world.

With the Hebrew Seminary, read primary texts, from the Torah, and then compare them with the stories of Sefer Aggadah, to explore the significance of the who, what, where, when, and most importantly the why behind each story. Explore how these stories have been used in the past and are still currently being used to guide us in Judaic ethics and practices. A knowledge of Hebrew is not required for auditing Students.

There will be a live ASL interpreter.

The Hebrew Seminary, founded in 1992, is a pluralistic, egalitarian, inclusive Rabbinical school that trains people as Rabbis and educators to serve all Jewish communities, including the Deaf community. All classes are currently held virtually and are open to Rabbinic students, as well as auditing students from around the world.
