The Jews of Crimea and the Story of the Karaites
Hosted By: Qesher
Qesher presents a program on the Jewish history of Crimea, a region long shaped by shifting borders and diverse peoples. The session will examine the coexistence of Ashkenazi and Karaite Jews, exploring their differences in tradition, practice, and belief. Participants will also learn about Jewish agricultural settlements, Zionist training camps, Soviet collective farms, and the region’s synagogues, Karaite prayer houses (kenesas), and historic cemeteries.
