‘Warsaw Testament’ by Rokhl Auerbach

Hosted By: YIVO

The YIVO Institute for Jewish Research presents a lecture on Rokhl Auerbach, a journalist, memoirist, and member of the Warsaw Yiddish literary community who joined Emanuel Ringelblum’s Oyneg Shabes archive in the Warsaw Ghetto. One of only three members of the archive to survive, Auerbach’s writings became essential to Holocaust historiography. Historian Samuel Kassow will discuss her memoir “Warsaw Testament,” which captures both the vibrancy of prewar Jewish Warsaw and its destruction.
