Poll: A Jewish Resolution

I’m not going to lie to you. I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions. Unless you count “buy some new deodorant” as a resolution (for you information…I kept that resolution, at least so far). But that doesn’t mean I’ve got a problem with them. If you want to quit your job or ask your favorite bartender out, I say do it. She may not be impressed by the unemployment though. Just warning you.

But while we spend a lot of time focusing on our weight or spending more time with family, etc., I wonder how much Judaism plays a role in our New Year’s resolutions. Do you think the frat guy making out with a random girl at midnight thought, “Gee, I should go to shul more.” Probably not.

So, I’m wondering, did anyone out there make a Jewish New Year’s resolution? Maybe deciding to keep kosher or go to synagogue more often? Maybe even light Shabbat candles. All of these would count.

Let us know.
