JTA is reporting that an ancient Jewish cemetery found in Jamaica contains headstones with pictures of skulls and crossbones. People are speculating that Jews were involved in piracy:
“The major role of Jews and pirates was we were like the brains behind their brawn, i.e. We advised and backed them,” Ed Kritzler wrote on the Web site of the United Congregation of Israelites in Jamaica. (MORE)
But that still doesn’t make these Jewish pirate jokes funny.
