What Makes Tanakh Unique?

Some claim that Tanakh, with its myths, tales and origin stories, is simply another product of Ancient Near East culture. Yet whilst it may share linguistic parallels, Tanach challenges ancient theological beliefs to gift the world with the unique thought system of ethical monotheism.

In this class, we will explore meta-themes in Tanach to see how they helped ancient Israel make sense of their unique heritage, purpose and aspirations.
