The Tears of Tisha B’Av: Current Perspectives From an Artist and a Rabbi

Hosted By: London School of Jewish Studies (LSJS)

Explore artwork and the grief and trauma in the Book of Eicha (Lamentations) in a presentation by artist Jacqueline Nicholls titled “For These I Weep: The Art of Crying in Picasso, Miro, Bourgeois, and Eicha.” The presentation will examine how Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro painted crying heads in reaction to the horrors of war. LSJS Dean, Rabbi Dr. Zarum, will reframe the significance of Tisha B’Av in light of recent events in Israel, helping to renew and deepen understanding of this sad day.
