The Future of Holocaust Memory

Hosted By: The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University

Remembering the Holocaust is seen as both a moral and political duty. But how should the memory of the genocide be carried forward in the public sphere? What forms of remembering are the most effective, accurate, or enduring? And how might new technologies, including virtual reality and holographic technology, impact Holocaust memory? In this short course, consider how Holocaust museums, educators, and novelists have responded to these questions, and what their responses might mean for the future of Holocaust memory. Readings provided by instructor.
