Soul Candles: Honoring Ancestors in Elul

Hosted By: Recustom

This High Holiday season, create your own prayer to communicate with your Biblical, pop cultural, and personal ancestors. Join Kohanot (Hebrew Priestesses) and educators Sarah Chandler and Annie Cohen on a time-traveling adventure to reconnect with and reclaim often-forgotten ancestral folk traditions, as we learn together about the Eastern European practices of grave measuring, soul candles, and traditional women’s prayers.

In the spirit of folk tradition that these practices represent, everyone is welcome to join. You will walk away with a customized prayer as well as resources for additional ancestral rituals.
