Shema: The Practice of Sacred Listening

Hosted By: Institute for Jewish Spirituality

Shema: The Practice of Sacred Listening is a five-week program designed to help participants be more present and less reactive in conversations, especially when challenging emotions, differing values, or judgments arise. “Shema,” meaning “hear” in Hebrew, encourages deep listening with sacred awareness to oneself and others. The program aims to strengthen the ability to recognize interconnection with all beings, which often lies beneath the louder voices of separation, judgment, and fear.
