The holiday of Shavuot celebrates two very different occurrences: it’s both a celebration of the harvest and a celebration of when we received the Ten Commandments. In this two-part series, Melton teacher Rabbi Johnny Solomon explores how Shavuot evolved from a harvest festival to a commemoration of receiving the Torah. They will also reflect on the personal and spiritual metamorphosis of Ruth, whose remarkable Biblical story is read on Shavuot.
