Qesher Book Club: Alive and Beating

Hosted By: Qesher

Qesher Book Club presents a discussion of Rebecca Wolf’s debut novel, “Alive and Beating,” inspired by a true story set in Jerusalem. The book follows six characters from vastly different religious, ethnic, and social backgrounds who are all awaiting organ transplants on a day that will change their lives forever. Through their intertwined stories, the novel explores how, despite deep divisions, the quest for life, healing, and purpose reveals a shared humanity.

Qesher

There are Jewish communities all around the globe with their own unique history, culture, places, and most of all, people and stories. All of them different, but sharing so much. The aim of Qesher is to connect these different Jewish traditions, not just to know of each other, but to learn about each other. We believe that there is great value in creating a deeper understanding within the Jewish world and exploring Jewish experiences and identities in all their diversity.
