Passover Cooking Across the Diaspora

Hosted By: Temple Israel of Boston

Join culinary historian Sara Gardner for a two-part exploration of Passover Cooking across the Diaspora. The virtual sessions are open to all, and you can join us for one or both classes. Ingredients list will be shared in advance of each class, so you can cook along from home or simply watch and learn.

Session 1 on March 25: Charoset is an essential symbolic part of the Passover seder, but aren’t you bored of just apples and wine?? Join Sara Gardner as we prepare and try an array of charoset recipes from across the diaspora, from Curaçao and Yemen to Iran. We’ll explore these recipes and talk about ways you can get creative with your charoset recipe ahead of your seder.

Session 2 on April 1: Matzah weighing you down? Need a mid-Passover dish refresh? Join Sara Gardner as we cook some novel and delicious dishes to keep your Passover menu interesting the whole holiday! Inspired by recipes from around the world, Sara will show you some neat tips and tricks and a few dishes that can keep you eating well all holiday long.
