Non-Jewish Communities of Israel

Hosted By: The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University

One of the lesser understood aspects of Israeli society are its many non-Jewish communities. This course will give an overview of these groups and survey the evolving relationships of the major ones with the State of Israel. Attain a deeper understanding of their experiences in Israel, their diverse identities and what their relationships with the state say about Israeli society. Presentations will also include primary material to give a voice to members of these groups. Communities covered include Israeli Arabs, Bedouin, Druze and Circassians.
