Neo-Nazi Terrorism and Countercultural Fascism

Hosted By: YIVO

“Neo-Nazi Terrorism and Countercultural Fascism: The Origins and Afterlife of James Mason’s Siege” examines the rise of the Atomwaffen Division and others inspired by James Mason’s book “Siege,” which lauds terrorism and figures like Charles Manson. The book details how Mason’s ideology took shape during the 1970s debates following the split of the American Nazi Party/NSWPP and reveals how, in the 1980s, musicians and publishers Boyd Rice, Michael Moynihan, Adam Parfrey, and Nikolas Schreck played key roles in disseminating his ideas. YIVO hosts a discussion with the author Spencer Sunshine about this exploration.
