Love the Stranger: JCC Krakow’s Invitation to Ukrainian Refugees

Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

The Torah teaches us: “Love the stranger because you were once strangers in the land of Egypt.” (Devarim 10:19) As we witness the atrocities executed by Russia on Ukraine, many of us find ourselves asking the question, “What can I do?” The JCC in Krakow has taken that question and turned it into meaningful action, inviting in Ukrainian refugees and welcoming them into their community. Join Jonathan Ornstein (JCC Krakow Executive Director), Rabbi Avi Baumol (Rabbinic Representative of the Chief Rabbi of Poland in Krakow), and Tamar Jacoby (president of Opportunity America and regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal) as they discuss the Jewish significance of their work with Ukrainian refugees in the Krakow Jewish community.
