Linen and Wool: Making Renaissance Faire Costumes Jewish

Hosted By: My Jewish Learning

We don’t normally think of Jewishness and Renaissance Faires as going together— but Jews were present throughout Renaissance history, and present-day Jews absolutely go to Ren Faires! Join costumer and historian Vi of the Youtube channel SnappyDragon to learn how dressing up in costume for Ren Faires and other history-themed events can be a Jewish experience. She’ll walk you through research methods, choosing your design, getting sewing patterns and materials, and making the outfit of your dreams. This class will primarily use Western European fashions as an example, but the methods can be used to create costumes from any place or time.
