Land of My Soul: The Theater of Sholem Asch

The Museum of Jewish Heritage will host “Land of My Soul,” a one-person performance by Caraid O’Brien featuring excerpts from Sholem Asch’s most successful and controversial dramas, translated by O’Brien. The performance will include monologues from “God of Vengeance,” “Motke Thief,” “The Dead Man,” and others, followed by a talkback with Asch’s great-grandson David Mazower and Lisa Newman of the Yiddish Book Center. The event will be presented in person and streamed live via Zoom.
