Explore the history, texts, and artistic choices involved in selecting a ketubah for your wedding ceremony. All are welcome, including interfaith and LGBTQ+ loved ones! This session is led by MJC’s Rabbi Rachael Pass, Alana Berman Gnivecki from Kolbo Fine Judaica Gallery, and ketubah designer Mickie Caspi.

Rabbi Rachael Pass

Rabbi Rachael Pass is the associate rabbi and manager of the spiritual counseling program at the T'Shuvah Center, a Jewish community for individuals in recovery from addiction of all kinds. She is a recent ordinand from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University. Rachael is currently studying for a second master's degree at the Jewish Theological Seminary in Jewish Gender and Women's Studies, focusing her research on queer and feminist philosophy, theology/thealogy, and ritual. She has written extensively on Jewish views of abortion, creative Jewish rituals including reclaiming mikveh, and feminist Jewish thought and Goddess-concepts. Rachael is passionate about intersectional feminism, Jewish ritual, and reading as many books as she can get her hands on.
