Jews in the Commonwealth of Nations: Trinidad, Gibraltar, Tanzania and Hong Kong

Hosted By: Qesher

Qesher presents a program on the contemporary relevance of the Commonwealth of Nations and its diverse Jewish communities. The session will examine the strengths, challenges, and characteristics of about 40 communities across Oceania, the Americas, Europe, and Africa, including both large populations and smaller, lesser-known groups. Examples from places such as Trinidad, Gibraltar, Tanzania, and Hong Kong will highlight how the Commonwealth continues to shape and sustain Jewish identity around the globe.

There are Jewish communities all around the globe with their own unique history, culture, places, and most of all, people and stories. All of them different, but sharing so much. The aim of Qesher is to connect these different Jewish traditions, not just to know of each other, but to learn about each other. We believe that there is great value in creating a deeper understanding within the Jewish world and exploring Jewish experiences and identities in all their diversity.
