How Many Mitzvot Are There?

Hosted By: FreelanceJudaism

The Jewish Sages tell us that there are 613 mitzvot (commandments) in the Torah. But are there really? Where did that number come from? Did someone actually count, or was there another method?

Learn about the origins of the number 613 and the ancient science and politics that helped form the traditions we still hold to this day. We’ll explore specific mitzvot (commandments) to better understand the structure of our sacred text, and discuss the relevance to our own lives today.
