Heבrew Conneאtions: Hebrew As The Bridge Between Old and New

Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

There is a tension in the Hebrew language between ancient sacred texts and up to the minute daily conversation. But that tension can be a bridge: Hebrew connects the Jewish community across space and time and embodies deep values of peoplehood and identity. We will explore Hebrew roots as Jewish concepts, showing how they embody Jewish ideas in both ancient and contemporary usage, binding a people, its language and history together. No knowledge of Hebrew is required.
