Gay is a Gift: Richie Jackson on Gay Like Me

Hosted By: Park Avenue Synagogue

A celebration of gay identity and parenting, Richie Jackson’s book Gay Like Me was spurred by his son coming out to him at age 15. Reflecting on his experiences as a gay man and his journey coming of age during a time of political and cultural turmoil, Gay Like Me is both a love letter from father to son as well as well as a powerful warning for the LGBTQ community and the world not to be complacent with the advances made in LGBTQ rights in the last 50 years. An intimate, personal exploration of our times, Gay Like Me rasies powerful questions about fundamental issues such as dignity, equality, and justice.
