Freedom in the Face of Tyranny: A Conversation with Natan Sharansky and Gil Troy

Hosted By: Jewish Review of Books

Watch the recording of this event here:

Hear Jewish Review of Books editor Abe Socher in conversation with Israeli politician, author, and human-rights activist Natan Sharansky and award-winning American presidential historian and Zionist activist Gil Troy. Together, Sharansky and Troy have coauthored a new book, Never Alone: Prison, Politics, and My People, an account of how Sharansky’s years in Soviet prisons, many spent in harsh solitary confinement, prepared him for a very public life after his release. We’ll be discussing Sharansky’s years as a refusenik, his political battles, and his urgent critique of contemporary American Jewish life.
