For I See Old Things Happening Again: Jill Freedman’s ‘Missing Generations’

Hosted By: The Fritz Ascher Society for Persecuted, Ostracized and Banned Art

Hosted by The Fritz Ascher Society for Persecuted, Ostracized and Banned Art, this program explores the photographic work of Jill Freedman, who traveled to Poland in 1993 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. Freedman returned the following year on a fellowship to document additional Holocaust sites in Hungary and Czechia. Susan Chevlowe, PhD, will discuss the resulting photo series and the unpublished book Freedman envisioned before her death, in honor of Yom HaShoah.
