Extraordinary Women of the Lower East Side Walking Tour

Hosted By: The Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy (LESJC)

The Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy presents a walking tour highlighting the influential women who helped shape the neighborhood’s political, social, and cultural identity. Historian and urban archeologist Brad Shaw will introduce participants to both famous and lesser-known women who were newspaper editors, labor leaders, social reformers, activists, and even criminals. These women played vital roles alongside their male counterparts in defining the character and legacy of the Lower East Side.
