Exploring Jewish Cuba: History, Heritage, and Personal Encounters
Community Scholar Program presents a conversation with Dr. Sharon Keller and Rabbi Elie Spitz reflecting on their recent visit to Cuba’s small but enduring Jewish community. From synagogue visits in Havana to stories of resilience amid food and medicine shortages, the program will highlight how Cuban Jews continue to preserve their heritage after decades of repression. Special guest Alain Bastow, who fled Cuba by inner tube 30 years ago, will also share his personal journey.
