Braiding in the Jewish New Year with Rabbi Vanessa Harper

Open Learningā€”American Jewish University will host a session with Rabbi Vanessa Harper, author of Loaves of Torah: Exploring the Jewish Year Through Challah, on preparing for the High Holy Days. Participants will learn about the history and spiritual significance of making and shaping challah and various techniques for creating beautiful challot. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions and, if desired, have Play-Doh or risen challah dough ready for hands-on practice.
