Black Power, Jewish Politics: Book Talk

Hosted By: The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University

When getting to know professor Marc Dollinger, you will discover that he believes, “It’s a scholar’s obligation (and privilege) to ‘complicate the narrative and deepen learning’… Whatever you learned growing up about Jews and social justice, it’s my job to turn it on its head…and convince you to think about things in new, different, and exciting ways.”
In his latest book, Black Power, Jewish Politics, Dollinger takes a brand-new look at the history of the black-Jewish alliance in the 1950s and 1960s to investigate what happened after the civil rights movement in the mid-1960s and 1970s when the Black-Jewish alliance broke-up.
