As It Is Written: Midrash and Creative Writing

Hosted By: Jewish Studio Project

In this monthly workshop we ground ourselves in text and unleash our imaginations using the Jewish Studio Process to explore and create midrashim (plural) about minor Biblical characters. Both a genre of literature and a process of reading and interpreting that we continue to engage in today, midrash is the creative life force of Jewish text study.

At least a third of the session is dedicated to creative writing.

The Jewish Studio Process is intentionally designed to democratize access to Jewish learning and art making – no background or prior experience in text study or creative writing required!

The monthly series meets on:

1/13, 2/10, 3/10, 4/14, 5/12, 6/9
