The special Rosh Hashanah prayer before eating a date (tamar in Hebrew) includes the phrase “yitamuhataim”–may the wicked cease.

Ingredients

1 lb medjool dates, pitted

1 cup slivered almonds

Finely shredded coconut, for rolling

Directions

Pulse dates and almonds in a food processor until they form a malleable paste. Form 1-inch balls from the date mixture and roll in shredded coconut.
