Ben Sira, Enoch, and Jubilees: Jewish Texts at the Edge of the Canon

Hosted By: Orange County Jewish Community Scholar Program ("CSP")

The Community Scholar Program presents the second session in a three-part series exploring ancient Jewish works just outside the biblical canon. This session focuses on Enoch, whose brief appearance in the book of Bereshit inspired later Jews to expand his story in the First Book of Enoch, a 3rd-century BCE text featuring a tour of heaven, a universe filled with angels, a solar calendar, and apocalyptic visions.
