Jewish Life in Toronto’s Global Mosaic

Hosted By: Qesher

Qesher presents a talk on Jewish life in Toronto, once known as the “City of Churches,” where into the 1950s, “even the Jews were Presbyterian.” Now called the “most diverse city in the world,” Toronto is home to a Jewish community that includes a wide range of synagogues, schools, social services, and cultural festivals. The session will also touch on unexpected highlights—like local filming locations for Adam Sandler.

Qesher

There are Jewish communities all around the globe with their own unique history, culture, places, and most of all, people and stories. All of them different, but sharing so much. The aim of Qesher is to connect these different Jewish traditions, not just to know of each other, but to learn about each other. We believe that there is great value in creating a deeper understanding within the Jewish world and exploring Jewish experiences and identities in all their diversity.
