The Boston Festival of New Jewish Music: Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell

Hosted By: JArts

Part of the Boston Festival of New Jewish Music, a free monthly concert series presenting original music drawing from the Jewish cultural experience.

Hosted by BackRoom at The Boston Synagogue, co-presented by JArts, and live-streaming everywhere, the Boston Festival of New Jewish Music highlights the best in Jewish-influenced music by composers and performers.

All concerts will be performed live at the Boston Synagogue and live-streamed.

For the past five years, vocalist Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell and accordionist Dmitri Gaskin have been entertaining audiences internationally as the duo Tsvey Brider, performing their original and stylistically diverse settings of 20th century Yiddish modernist poetry. These songs, now reimagined through Gaskin’s arrangements for voice and string ensemble with Matthew Stein (fiddle) and Misha Khalikulov (cello) of the klezmer band Baymele, bring a whole new world of sound, texture and color to the work of Tsvey Brider.
