The Sinai Revolution: The Inner Workings of Jewish Texts

Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

What was revealed at Sinai and how do other canons of Jewish literature fit into our story? Join Rabbi Schiff in the weeks leading up to Shavuot as he explores the structure of Jewish texts, beginning with Torah and continuing through contemporary times. The role of Torah, Tanakh, and Talmud, will be examined to gain a deeper understanding of Jewish law and lore. As Shavuot approaches, we will take an up-close look at the moment of revelation and the texts that flowed from that wondrous encounter.

This is a four week class that meets on Wednesdays: April 27, May 4, May 11, May 18
