As some of you might have noticed from earlier blog posts, the synagogue I now attend is a bit old-fashioned. Sometimes this can be frustrating, but sometimes it proves to be very rewarding.

Today is one of those days.

Each year the Men’s Club delivers yellow candles to every family in order to commemorate Yom Hashoah. The candles are hand delivered by members of the Men’s Club door-to-door.

Our shul has more than 900 families.

What a statement of the importance of the day.

May their memories be for a blessing, and may we never forget.
