About Michele Streit Heilbrun

Michele (Mikie) Streit Heilbrun is the co-owner of Streit's Matzos, founded by her great-grandfather in 1925 on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Manhattan, she is a recent transplant to Savannah, Georgia. Mikie spent more than twenty-five years as a casting director and the last few as the proud mother of her daughter, Joey.

Matzah Tiramisu Recipe for Passover

Tiramisu translates to “pick me up.” And this popular Italian dessert sure lifts our mood! Here, we altered the classic by using matzah in place of traditional ladyfingers. The matzah soaks up the cream, chocolate, and rum with mouthwatering results.
