Virtual Walking Tour: Historic Jewish Philadelphia

Hosted By: The Museum of Jewish Heritage-- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust

As Thanksgiving nears, travel virtually to the city of brotherly love. In this live, virtual walking tour, tourists will explore two historic sections of Philadelphia that highlight important Jewish contributions to the city and to the founding of the U.S.: the former Jewish Quarter, where hundreds of thousands of Eastern European Jews settled in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and Independence National Historic Park, where Jewish people joined in the project of founding the new nation. See historic photos and present-day scenes that tell some of the many stories of these important places, people, and times.
