Virtual Tour of Jewish Colombia

Hosted By: My Jewish Learning

Join My Jewish Learning and Jewish Telegraphic Agency to learn about the history and culture of the Jews of Colombia. The first prominent Jewish communities in Bogotá, Colombia’s capital, were established in the 1930s, a time when there was a large amount of assimilation into Colombian culture.  The history of Jewish presence goes back further, with some saying that the founder of Bogotá was Jewish. There are Columbian cultural traditions that can be linked with Jewish customs and every day more people are curious about finding an aspect of their Jewish history that might have gotten lost in time. Our guide, Vivianne, is a third generation Jew living in Colombia.
